The Journey So Far
This blessed journey began in the year 2007, when the community of Saint Basil Greek Orthodox Christian Church, in Stockton, California, initiated a pilgrimage to locate and request a relic of our Patron and Intercessor Saint Basil the Great!
After numerous requests, a relic of our Patron was located on the island of Cyprus, in the trust and care of a humble priest-monk. Following communication and prayer, this humble servant of God, who had been entrusted with the holy relic of The Heaven Revealer, discerned that the relic of Saint Basil should travel to America, be entrusted to the Metropolis of San Francisco, and parish of Saint Basil in Stockton, to bless the faithful who venerate it.
February 2, 2009, Saint Basil’s Proistamenos (Priest), Father Luke Palumbis, travelled with Father Chris Flesoras, of Saint Anna Greek Orthodox Church in Roseville, Ca, to the island of Cyprus to receive the holy relic from the hand of this humble priest-monk, and bring it back to the Metropolis of San Francisco.
With events leading to, the holy relic of the Heaven Revealer, Saint Basil the Great, is presented to the parish of Saint Basil by His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco on Sunday, June 14, 2009!

In honoring our Patron Saint Basil the Great, a philanthropist and defender of children, all proceeds from the road to the relic events will be donated to the trust funds established in support of the children of the Oakland Police Department officers who were murdered in the line of duty on March 21, 2009.
All events are free of charge; however, free-will offerings will be collected at each event to be donated to the trust funds. Please give generously.
